Start Up Style Cruises to Build Two New Luxury Ships For Chinese Market.




China Merchants Group (CMG) has signed a deal with Shanghai Style Cruise Industry Development Co. Ltd. for the construction of  two new 37,000-ton luxury cruise ships. A delivery date for the first ship is 2022.

The 534-guest ships will be built in China and targeted at the Chinese market and operate under the Style Cruise brand. Style Cruises is banking on the Chinese patriotic loyalty - hoping travelers will choose Chinese built, Chinese Managed and Chinese culture over foreign cruise lines.

Style Cruise Brand also has an option for 2 additional vessels.

Portuguese based Mystic Cruises is said to be opening their United States operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The small ship, luxury exploration cruise line currently has 1 ship in operation - the World Explorer. Another ship under construction, World Navigator and another three ships expected. Mystic Cruises is using a combined operating principles including operating the ships under the Mystic Brand and chartering them out for the remainder of the time.
